Amid tension at China border, convoy of Indian Army passes through Rohtang Pass

A convoy of Indian Army vehicles carrying logistics goods to Kargil was seen on the Manali-Leh road in Gulaba Rohtang at an altitude of 13,000 feet above sea level. This comes in the wake of heightening tension between India and China over border dispute after the violent Galwan Valley face-off in eastern Ladakh.

Rohtang/Manali: With escalating tension at the India-China border, thousands of Indian Army vehicles carry logistics goods to Kargil were seen on the Manali-Leh road in Gulaba Rohtang.

The convoy crossed the Rohtang Pass at an altitude of 13,000 feet above sea level through the Manali-Leh road on Sunday. It made its way through Jammu and Kashmir to reach Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh's Leh, following the border dispute in eastern Ladakh.

On June 15, Indian and Chinese troops entered into a violent face-off at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh, where 20 Indian Army personnel were martyred. After the standoff, the terms between the two nations went for a toss.

Amid possibilities of war, enraged Indians started opposing China by boycotting its goods and expressing their anger against Chinese President Xi Jinping. People took to streets to demonstrate against the Chinese President by burning his effigies and raising anti-China slogans.

With constant opposition, multiple attempts were made to resolve the dispute through diplomatic dialogues between the two countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the countrymen over the Galwan standoff and said that India has the power to give a befitting reply and China will be given answer when the right time comes.

In this direction, the Central government had banned 59 Chinese mobile applications including TikTok.

On July 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a surprise visit to Ladakh to review the border situation by meeting Army officials in Leh. Taking stock of the situation, he encouraged the jawans for their courage and valour by paying tributes to the martyrs and also met the injured soldiers of Galwan face-off.

During his two-day Leh tour, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Army personnel and gave a strong message to China by saying that no power in the world can take away even an inch of India's land.
