Ajmer(Rajasthan): An elderly woman died after she was run over by an unidentified vehicle on Wednesday. The Gujar Dharti Ajmer Police have registered a case of rash driving (Section 79) and 304A (death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code against the unidentified driver who was allegedly drunk when the incident was reported
The accident occured when the old woman was sitting outside her house and the vehicle hit her at Gujar Dharti area belonging to Ajmer Alwer Gate Police station.
However, after the mishap locals rushed to the spot and caught hold of three people, including the driver. The woman died on the spot, triggering panic in the area. As soon as the incident came to light, the cops swung into action and reached the accident spot.

"We saw the CCTV footage of the entire incident. The elderly woman was sitting outside her house when the vehicle hit her. Two people have been arrested and a case has been registered. We are investigating the matter, " a police officer said.
The woman was taken to the nearby district hospital but she succumbed to her injuries. Breath alcohol tests of all the three accused were also conducted.
