New Delhi: Reacting to the All India Muslim Personal Law Board's (AIMPLB) decision to file a review petition against the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya title dispute, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha on Sunday said it was just "communal drama".

Sinha said AIMPLB should be dissolved

Speaking exclusively to ETV Bharat, the Rajya Sabha MP said the apex court judgment was historic as a 500-year-old dispute was put to rest peacefully without any adverse reactions.

"This was truly a historic moment, as neither did anyone express sorrow, nor celebrate the verdict," he said.

"But now, the path which the AIMPLB is taking, is just communal drama," he added.

Sinha accused AIMPLAB of trying and altering the nation's communal harmony, by indulging in their politics of polarisation.

"They do not even have the complete legal right as most of the litigants are happy with the verdict," he said, adding that the Muslims of the country should reject the AIMPLB and politicians like Asaduddin Owaisi who were against the apex court verdict.

"It is now time for the AIMPLB to be dissolved as their existence is no longer justified," the Rajya Sabha MP further added.

After a meeting in Lucknow, the AIMPLB decided to file a review petition against the Supreme Court's Ayodhya verdict, adding that it was against accepting the five-acre alternative land given for a mosque as it "will neither balance equity nor repair the damage caused" and claimed the verdict had several contradictions.
