New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi is unable to find volunteers for the phase 3 of the human trial of the indigenously built vaccine 'Covaxin', created with the help of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Bharat Biotech.
Despite there being an atmosphere of great curiosity in the whole country about the Corona vaccine, reportedly people aren't coming forward for volunteering as they believe that soon the tried and tested vaccine would be available.
The vaccine's human trials are going on at 12 places across the country including Delhi AIIMS which is in the final human trial of "Covaxin". At least 1500 volunteers are required for this phase, but so far only 200 volunteers have been registered. Dr Sanjay Rai, Professor, Human Trial Coordinator Community Medicine Department at AIIMS, is not happy with Volunteers' indifferent attitude.

Until the third phase of the human trial is not successfully completed, the data about the safety and efficiency of the vaccine will not be complete. In such a situation, the authority giving the vaccine clearance for the use of common people will not pass it, making it longer for common people to get the vaccine.
