Situation worse than lockdown, fruits and vegetables getting spoiled
Farmers are not ready to withdraw from the Kundli border on the highway. It’s a major loss as it has affected the supply of essential goods to the common man. Trucks carrying fruits, vegetables and medicines are also stuck. All stocks that are in trucks are already getting spoiled. The drivers and operators of trucks that are stuck amidst the farmers are also spending the nights there. Everything from the food industry to the online delivery of items has been affected.
According to the operators of the food industry, the stocks are already ready according to the season and demand, but now they are not able to send it anywhere. This situation is worse than the lockdown. During the lockdown there was no labor, so stocks were not being prepared. However, now the stocks have been prepared but it is getting spoiled because it is not being transported. When we talked to the truck drivers stranded on the Kundli border, they informed us that our trucks have fruits and vegetables and medicines which if not reached on time will spoil.
