New Delhi: Claiming that the arrest of Jammu and Kashmir cop Davinder Singh, who was caught with two terrorists, raised concerns about the security situation in the Valley, leader of Congress party in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Tuesday called for a "fresh look" into the Pulwama terror attack.

  • Had #DavindarSingh by default been Davindar khan ,the reaction of troll regiment of RSS would have been more strident and vociferous. Enemies of our country ought to be condemned irrespective of Colour, Creed, and Religion.

Taking an apparent dig at the right-wing, Chowdhury said that enemies of the country ought to be condemned irrespective of their social standing.

"Had #DavindarSingh by default been Davindar khan ,the reaction of troll regiment of RSS would have been more strident and vociferous. Enemies of our country ought to be condemned irrespective of Colour, Creed, and Religion," he tweeted.

  • The chink in the armour is exposed in the valley much to the consternation of us,we can not afford ourselves to be penny wise and pound foolish,

Chowdhury added that we can not afford to be "penny wise and pound foolish" as the "chink in the armour" has been exposed in the valley with Singh's arrest.

"Now question will certainly be arisen as to who were the real culprits behind the gruesome Pulwama incident, need a fresh look on it," he wrote, referring to the February 2019 terror attack in which over 40 CRPF jawans were martyred.

Earlier on January 11, Davinder Singh, a Jammu and Kashmir Police officer decorated with the Presidents's Police Medal for bravery, was caught with two Hizbul militants while travelling on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway.

According to reports, Singh's interrogation on his movement to Delhi along with the two Hizbul militants has given a signal towards a big terror plan to be executed on or before Republic Day celebration on January 26.

The police officer is reportedly also being interrogated on Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru's letter in which he wrote in 2013 claiming that Singh had asked him to accompany a Parliament attack accused to Delhi and arrange his stay there.

Intro:Body:

At an age when he should be going to school and playing with his friends, he is busy taking care of his elders. Sometimes this boy performs the duties of the mythological  character of Sravan Kumar in epic Ramayan and at other times he does the role of Laxman. The seven year old boy studying in class three bears the burden of a poverty-stricken family  afflicted with diseases.

Body: VO 1-  Pabitra Kumar Behera, a 40 year old man of Athabatia village of Marshaghai  block in Kendrapara district is completely bed-ridden and resigned to his fate with all the apprehensions in his mind. He lacks the physical strength to get up from  his bed and at the same time he has no money to purchase medicines. He has become immobile because of  arthritis in his knee and due to continuous lying on the bed, he has also developed body sores.  Four months back Pabitra had a small snacks shop in Badapal market  near his village. Somehow he was managing the family with the meager income he was making from the shop. Although his first child was born as a physical challenged one, the poverty-stricken parents bestowed all their love and affection for the boy and never neglected him. Later about nine years back Pabitra’s wife Champalbati became bed-ridden with arthritis . He had to sell his homestead plot at the end of the village in order to arrange treatment of his wife. He built a small thatched house on a government land in the village to provide shelter for his family. But as fate would have it, while his wife is yet to recover from the disease, Pabitra was himself afflicted with arthritis four months back and became bed-ridden.  In his bad days his seven year son Prathames  who is studying in class three has become his lone saviour.  The boy has virtually become the elder brother of his own physically challenged elder brother and parent for his father and mother. It is needless to say that he had almost given up his studies.  The reason is that his main job is to cook food for the family, feed the bed-ridden parents and elder brother, clean the utensils, sweep the floors and even take care of them in doing their daily chores. Prathames is just seven year old and studies in class three in the local Saraswati Vidyamandir.  His father Pabitra Kumar Behera, mother Champabati  Behera and the elder brother  who live in Athabatia village of Marshaghai block in Kendrapara village  are fully dependent  on this  young and innocent boy who is yet to know about the world. Thus runs the affairs in the poverty-stricken family. There is none else in the society to see the plight of the family. Prathames has given first priority to his duties for the family accepting his fate as the desire of God  despite having a desire of his own to have colourful  dress for himself  and study and play on the village roads like his friends.

VO2-  The plight of the family does not end here.  The income of the family is limited to ration provided by the government for the family consisting of four members and monthly allowance of Rs. 500 for the physically challenged elder brother.  Prathames sells the monthly ration provided by the government and with the money he purchases  a little medicine for his parents. He has no alternative than to beg to feed  the four members of the family. Everyday he helps his parents and elder brother in doing their daily routines and cleans them and then leaves for the neighbouring villages to beg. The parents and the brother eagerly wait for him to see what he has brought from begging.  In stead of himself eating, he feeds them first with whatever food he has got from other villagers. Then he starts cooking.  Occasionally he returns home from school. A seven year old boy takes the entire burden of a landless family having three persons lying on the bed. But how long the family would be able to bear with the pain of  hunger. So leaving behind his studies,  begging has become the  first duty for Prathames  in order to provide food  for his parents and physically challenged brother.  The local people compare him with Sravan Kumar and Laxman of this age. However, a ray of hope has emerged for the family as the district Collector has assured to provide all possible assistance to them.
