New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a petition filed by Advocate Yatin Oza, challenging the Gujarat High Court's decision of stripping his senior designation. The court has listed the matter for next hearing on September 29.
The bench led by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said that they will hear the matter after the high court decides the course of action as the apology by Oza has been rejected by the high court.
Judges observed that it is an unfortunate situation and Oza has made things worse for himself.

Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi representing Oza said that the judges also know that the matter of the gown is a death sentence for a lawyer.
Justice Kaul said that the concern for them is that it is not an isolated incident.
In August, the Gujarat High Court had rejected Oza's apology for his allegations of corruption against the registry of the high court and had observed that it is insignificant given the irreparable damage caused to the court. The court observed that the press conference where Oza made comments was a planned articulated attack which can not be overlooked.
In July, Oza was stripped of his senior designation. Oza had apologised to the Gujarat High Court and the Supreme Court but was not granted relief.
