Aarogya Setu, A Multilingual Covid-19 tracking App launched by the government

Aarogya Setu is a mobile application developed by the Government of India to connect essential health services with the people of India in our combined fight against COVID-19. The App is aimed at augmenting the initiatives of the Government of India, particularly the Department of Health, in proactively reaching out to and informing the users of the app regarding risks, best practices and relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of COVID-19.

Aarogya Setu is a mobile application developed by the Government of India to connect essential health services with the people of India in our combined fight against COVID-19. The App is aimed at augmenting the initiatives of the Government of India, particularly the Department of Health, in proactively reaching out to and informing the users of the app regarding risks, best practices and relevant advisories pertaining to the containment of COVID-19.

The App detects other devices with Aarogya Setu installed that have come in the Bluetooth / GPS proximity of your phone and captures this information. In the unfortunate case of any of those recent contacts Test positive, the App calculates your risk of infection based on recency and proximity of your interaction and recommends suitable action.

Aarogya Setu has privacy-first by design and as an essential element. The personal data collected by the App is encrypted using state-of-the-art technology and stays secure.The App has been thoroughly and rigorously tested for security vulnerabilities by leading academic and industry experts.

The feature of Rooting disables some of the built-in security features of the Android/OS. These features are essential to keep the android operating system safe,secure also to protect the user's data. So a rooted mobile makes it vulnerable and poses a security risk.This may adversely affect the App. It is not advisable to install the App on any rooted device.
