Delhi: With the third phase of Lok Sabha polls 2019 concluding on April 23, the interim voter turnout as on seven in the evening stood at 64.66 per cent.
In the third phase of the seven-phased general election, voting was held in 117 Parliamentary Constituencies (PC) across 15 states and Union Territories (UT), which account for 20 per cent of the total Lok Sabha seats. With the conclusion of the third phase, the election in 22 states and UT's have come to an end.
"The third phase was the heaviest in terms of parliamentary constituencies going to polls. The size of electorate in the third phase was more than 19 crore, of which women voters were 9.29 crore, the number of third gender voters stood at 7,058, and voters belonging to the category of person with disabilities stood at 9.98 lakh," said Umesh Sinha, Senior Deputy Election Commissioner, while addressing a presser after the conclusion of the third phase of polls.

Sinha further said, "Polling was held in 2.14 lakh polling stations in this phase,"
"All parliamentary constituencies in Gujarat, Kerala, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa and Daman and Diu voted today (April 23) in a single phase," said Sinha.
The poll body also said that the voter turnout in both the first and second phase polls held earlier in April remained consistent at 69.45 per cent and 69.43 per cent, respectively.
Four of the seven-phase Lok Sabha polls 2019 remain to be held for election to 543 seats of the lower house of the Parliament. The counting of votes will be held on May 23.
