62- year-old Sheila Devi defied all odds, to cause a mini-revolution in her district. She has been selling milk for the last 22 years on her bicycle in local villages to earn her livelihood.

Kasganj: Sheila Devi, 62, has proved that age is just a number. She has been selling milk for the last 22 years on her bicycle in local villages to earn her livelihood. Even after losing her husband after a year of her marriage, she chose not to give up and today she is a living example of women empowerment, Devi is one of inspiration, perseverance and the power of determination. People lovingly call her 'Sheila Bua'.

After the death of her husband, Devi returned back to her village and started farming on four bighas of land her father had. Even when she thought that life could not be more difficult, she lost her parents. But she decided not to give up.

Sheila Devi brought a few buffaloes and started selling milk and today, she even supplies milk to market shops.

Even at the age of 62, Sheila Buaa pedals cycle with the same zeal and enthusiasm and goes to sell milk from door to door in the town, which is five kilometres away from her village. She takes pride in her work.

Talking to ETV Bharat, she said, "I do not get any pension now. It was fixed but now it has been stopped. I got my registered under Kisan Samman Nidhi but have not availed any benefits of the scheme. All I have received is sanitation facilities by the government.

She urged Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the District Magistrate to provide her benefits of the government scheme.
