Delhi: Over 501 complaints pertaining to violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) have been filed with the Election Commission in Delhi ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled to be held on February 8.
Out of these 501 complaints, 485 are FIRs and remaining 16 are Daily Diary (DD) entries, much higher when compared to the 2015 election, as per information provided by the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi.
A total of 476 FIRs have been registered under the defacement of public property clause of MCC which came into force in the national capital on January 6, apart from four similar FIRs in case of private property.
As many as 24 of these complaints have been filed against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), 12 against Congress, while six have been filed against the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).
Similarly, 323 FIRs have been registered under the Arms Act so far, leading to the arrest of 347 people.

As of February 1, 160 kg of narcotics and drugs have been seized from Delhi.
Apart from these, 21 other cases have been registered including five FIRs over misuse of motor vehicles, violence of loudspeaker, illegal meeting and gratification of electors, among other violations.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Ranbir Singh has assured strict action against the violators.
