"Another positive things is setting up of a committee to look into the rights of indegenours people before implementing the Clause 6 of the Assam Accord," he added.

Clause 6 of the Assam Accord relates to constitutional, legislative and administrative safeguards as may be appropriate, shall be provided to protect, preserve, promote the cultural, social, linguistic identity and heritage of Assamese people.

The final NRC list that was published in Assam on August 31 had generated mixed reactions, as more than 19 lakh people were found ineligible.

With Modi's birthday falling on September 17, the BJP has decided that the entire week leading up to the Prime Minister's birthday will be observed as "Seva Saptah."

All 303 BJP MPs have been asked to spell out what they could do in their respective constituencies to contribute to the "Seva Saptah" where these points will be taken to the electorate.
