Bengaluru Fake Indian Currency Notes case: Two sentenced to 6 years imprisonment

Racketeers Gangadhar Kholkar and Sabiruddin were convicted to six-years imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 by special NIA court in Bengaluru. They were arrested for involvement in the Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) printing.

Bengaluru: Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court in Bengaluru has convicted two Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) racketeers to six-year imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 15,000.

The racketeers Gangadhar Kholkar and Sabiruddin were convicted.

In 2018, the NIA team, which started operations against the Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) printing place, arrested three suspects in the Madanayakanahalli station range and seized Rs. 64.84 lakh Fake Indian Currency, the face value of 2000 rs note.

The case was registered in Madanayakanahalli police station.

Investigation in the case revealed the involvement of four more persons including three FICN suppliers in Malda district of West Bengal.

After investigation, NIA had filed charge sheets against seven arrested persons namely Mohammed Sajjad Ali, M G Raju, Gangadhar Ramappa Kolkar, Vanitha, Abdul Kadir, Sabiruddin and Vijay.

Now Gangadhar and Sabrdduin were sentenced to six-year imprisonment. The NIA said that further investigation against absconding accused Jahiruddin is underway.
