Srinagar (Jammu Kashmir): With the onset of winter in Jammu and Kashmir, people start to purchase more and more warm clothes to protect them from the severe cold.
There are many woollen shops in Srinagar but the showroom of the government's Bemina Woolen Mill is quite famous for its fine wool, unique design and excellent work.
All the products available in the showroom are from the traditional woollen industry in Bemina. Here 22 macron wool is imported from foreign countries and with the help of the latest equipment, woollen products are manufactured.

After cleaning and dyeing the sheep wool, they are beautifully turned into fabric.
The wool imported from foreign countries is made into a thread by passing it through various stages. This thread is then passed through separate machines to form a fabric.
Along with importing wool, the factory is also in demand for their local products.
Although the machinery of the mill was severely damaged in the floods of 2014, with the help of the government and efforts of the factory employees, the work has been going well for the last few years.
Recently the heritage mill was given a major overhaul under the World Bank-funded JTFRP (Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project) - a move hailed by the people associated with the wool production as well as the employees working at the heritage Govt Bemina Woolen Mill.
More than 100 employees are currently working here.
Khurshid Sultan, manager of Bemina woollen mill, said that the mill manufactures high-quality fabric, due to which the products are not only popular locally but also internationally.

In Srinagar, there are two large showrooms of Bemina Woolen Mill in which these warm garments are available in beautiful designs. These products are made directly from the factory.
Overcoats and jackets are a big hit with people of all ages.
