Hyderabad: Former Indian captain and current Board of Control for Cricket in India president Sourav Ganguly has followed on the footsteps of his junior Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Like the World Cup winning captain Dhoni, a biopic on Ganguly, popularly known as Bengal Tiger, is also going to be made. This was announced by Ganguly himself on Twitter.
“Cricket has been my life, it gave confidence and ability to walk forward with my head held high, a journey to be cherished. Thrilled that Luv Films will produce a biopic on my journey and bring it to life for the big screen,” he tweeted. However, who will play his character has not yet been decided.
Now, fans are waiting for two films on cricket. Ranveer Singh is playing the role of Kapil Dev in the film '83' on the 1983 World Cup winning team. Though this film was ready in 2019 itself, its release date has been deferred many times because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' on the life of former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was released in 2016. Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput played the lead role in the film. After this, a documentary 'Sachin - A Billion Dreams' also came based on batting legend Sachin Tendulkar.
