Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): A day after Vishwambhar Dayal shot himself with a licensed weapon at Bapu Bhavan in Uttar Pradesh Lucknow, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Wednesday, directed senior officers to review security in all government buildings and that no one should be allowed to enter the secretariat with a weapon.
"Additional chief secretary for Home, ADG for Law and Order and Secretariat administration should deeply review the security arrangements and present their report," Adityanath said.
Dayal, personal secretary to Additional Secretary (Urban Development) Rajnish Dubey, on Monday, shot himself with a licensed weapon at Bapu Bhavan. The Bapu Bhawan is a high-security building connected to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

He allegedly faced police harassment after a case was registered at Auras police station in Unnao over an ongoing dispute with his sister's in-laws.
Dayal was taken to Lohia Hospital in critical condition. A team of doctors from neurosurgery, anaesthesia, and general surgery departments performed a four-hour-long operation after which the bullet in Dayal's head was removed. He was then shifted to the ICU where his condition remains critical.
