New Delhi: A 50-year old Indian origin businessman, Bansari Lal Arendhi, was reportedly abducted at gunpoint in Afghanistan on Tuesday morning at 8am.
According to reports, Arendhi, who runs a pharmaceutical company, was going to his shop along with staff. It is also being reported that his car was hit from the backside and after that, he was taken at gunpoint.
Sharing details about the abduction, Indian World Forum President Puneet Singh Chandhok said that Taliban assaulted his staff and have tried to kidnap them, but they managed to escape from their capture.
Arendhi's family lives in Delhi-NCR and the information about his abduction has been sent to the Ministry of External Affairs.
A case has also been registered with a local investigation agency and a search has been launched to locate him.
Meanwhile, his family has appealed to the government to intervene and rescue the kidnapped businessman.
