Bengaluru: The CCB police on Wednesday arrested six people, including an Ayurvedic doctor, on charges of illegally selling Remdesivir vials in Bengaluru. Eighteen vials of the medicine were seized from them.

Ayurvedic doctor Abhishek Chaudhary, his assistant Vinod, Kumaraswamy, Lingaraj and Basavaraj are five among the six arrested people. Of these, Kumaraswamy, Lingaraj and Basavaraj are employed at different hospitals. The identity of the sixth accused was not revealed.
Police said the accused were illegally selling each Remdesivir vial for Rs 15,000 - Rs 20,000 at a reputed hospital. Doctors had ordered these vials for COVID-19 patients. Police are also investigating the involvement of doctors.
