Malkangiri (Odisha): Three Maoists were gunned down during an exchange of fire with security forces near Tulasi hills under Mathili Police Station limits of Malkangiri. Three Maoists, including two women, were killed. One SLR and one rifle have been seized. According to sources, the injured will be evacuated by a helicopter.
On a tip-off, a joint team of the SOG and Malkangiri DVF had launched a combing operation in the area. During the operation several Maoists, who were hiding in the forest, opened fire at the security forces, the DGP said. In retaliation by the jawans, three Maoists were killed and the bodies of the three Maoists were recovered from the spot, the top cop said.
