14-year-old's 'Dahi Kachoris' selling like hot cakes, thanks to social media

Fourteen-year-old Tanmay Agarwal became popular overnight, thanks to social media, as his video went viral, many people made a beeline to eat at his mobile eatery to relish 'Dahi Kachori'. Tanmay was selling the 'Kachori' for Rs 10 outside the Maninagar Railway Station to help his family, which was in dire straits.

Ahmedabad: Some time ago, 'Baba Ka Dhaba' of Delhi became famous after the video went viral on social media, and since then there is no looking back for the dhaba as scores of customers made a beeline to the eatery to relish their delicacies. Similarly, one Tanmay Agarwal selling 'Dahi Kachori' has become famous when his video went viral a few days ago. Many people thronged the eatery to grab a bite of 'Dahi Kachori' at Maninagar Railway Station in Ahmedabad.

The Class VIII student was selling 'Dahi Kachori' on a two-wheeler at Rs 10 per plate. Earlier, Tanmay used to sell 'Kachori' with his parents. Speaking to ETV Bharat, he said, "A youth had made my video and uploaded it on social media, subsequently, it went viral, and the very next day, I saw the rise in the number of customers."

Tanmay and his parents are very happy with the increase in customers. Tanmay Agarwal lives with his parents and sister in a rented house at Maninagar. "My father, mother, sisters and grandmother make 'kachoris', I have been helping my family as we are facing financial problems due to
a family dispute among the members of the joint family." Interestingly, people, who come to eat 'Dahi Kachori', also taking selfies with him.

Notably, social media has become a boon to the common people, who cannot afford to launch publicity for their products. Many people like
petty vendors, who sell snacks and meals, became overnight sensations, thanks to those who upload their videos on social media.
