Sibenik: A massive wildfire broke out at the Croatian coastal town of Sibenik on Saturday forcing to close down part of the highway and also threatening a village.
The fire erupted at two different locations around Sibenik. Heavy winds made it difficult for the firefighters to control the blaze.
Taking note of the situation about 200 firefighters and 50 Croatian army soldiers were deployed to fight the blaze.
Aircraft were seen dumping water onto the flames in an attempt to bring the situation under control.
No casualties were reported. About 30 houses in a village were evacuated and the power supply was switched off as a precautionary measure.
