London: The UK has reported 381 new coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours, making the country's highest in a day.

The UK has so far confirmed 25,510 coronavirus cases and 1,789 fatalities.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and could lead to death.

The ExCeL Centre in London has been turned into a temporary hospital to cope with the inflow of patients affected by COVID-19.

The new NHS Nightingale Hospital London will have between 4,000 and 5,000 beds and it's due to open this week.
