Paris: Two-dozen Reporters Without Borders' (RSF) activists dropped dismembered mannequins outside the Saudi Arabian consulate in France to mark the 1st anniversary of the killing in Turkey of US-based journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Clad in red jackets bearing the RSF logo, the group jumped out the back of a rented lorry with bags full of plastic body parts and orange vests printed with the word 'Press'.

Christophe Deloire, head of RSF France, said that the NGO was determined to put the killing of the journalist on the agenda of the next G20 Summit, scheduled to be held in Riyadh in November 2020.

"We cannot accept that this is a (G20) presidency like any other," Deloire told journalists, adding that, "We cannot accept that all other heads of states and governments are just spectators of what happened."

Khashoggi entered the Saudi consulate in Turkey on October 2, 2018, to collect a document he needed to marry his Turkish fiancee.

Agents of the Saudi government killed him inside and apparently dismembered his body, which has never been found.

Saudi Arabia has charged 11 people in the slaying and put them on trial, which has been held in secret.

As of yet, no one has been convicted.
