New Taipei City: The Lantern Festival in Taiwan on Tuesday marked the end of its 15-day Chinese New Year celebration, also known as the Spring Festival, and is celebrated on the night of the first full moon of the lunar New Year.
The extraordinary sight of the sky lantern festival attracts tourists from around the world to the New Taipei City each year.

"Actually, I just read it on my guide book. I was skimming what I could do while in Taipei, then I read about this sky lantern festival. And she is my best friend, and I know that's her dream to see a sky lantern festival once in her life," said a visitor.
To commemorate the Chinese Year of the Pig which had started this month, people queued to write messages on the giant pig lantern which was later set on its maiden flight.
