New York: Australia's Prime Minister Scott Morrison said Wednesday the protection of the world's oceans is one of the most pressing environmental challenges.
Addressing delegates at the UN General Assembly in New York, Morrison mentioned Australia's achievements in tackling climate change.
He called on leaders and stakeholders in the climate change debate to listen to the concerns of young people.
The prime minister also announced massive investment funding by the Australian government to tackle ocean pollution.
Our focus is to create the right investment environment so that the new technologies are commercialised preventing pollution from entering our oceans and creating valuable new products, Marrison mentioned in his speech.
