Port au Prince: Protesters clashed with police Wednesday in Port-au-Prince as thousands marched to protest against president Jovenel Moise.

"From this moment Jovenel Moses no longer has the legitimacy to continue exercising power," said Andre Michel, the leader of the Patriotic Movement of the Democratic Opposition.

"The people are on their way to the National Palace so that the president can see that the people have revoked him, the people have removed him, his mandate, and we will stay in front of the palace to show him that his mandate is over," said Senator Youri Latortue who was on the street with the protesters.

Protesters are angry about skyrocketing inflation and the government's failure to prosecute embezzlement from a multi-billion Venezuelan program that sent discounted oil to Haiti.
