Nembe: More than 50 people were missing after a leaking oil pipeline exploded and caused a stampede in southern Nigeria on Saturday, a local official said.

The Nembe Chiefs Council spokesman told the Associated Press that the blast early Friday caused a massive oil spillage in the Nembe kingdom in Bayelsa state.

Video obtained by the AP showed a large blaze from the ruptured pipeline at night as villagers looked on.
