Hyderabad: Bollywood actor Swara Bhasker took to social media on April 28 to discuss the ongoing wrestlers' protest. She spoke in support of wrestlers who have been protesting at Delhi's Jantar Mantar against Wrestling Federation of India, WFI, president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations levelled against him.
Swara wrote on Twitter, "Shameful that our top international athletes are forced to protest against sexual harassment on the streets but accused BJP MP is consistently shielded by the government. Sack and look into it. #IStandWithMyChampions." Swara said in the video that she supports the protesters not because they are elite international athletes but rather because she worries about what would happen to someone else (commoner) if they were treated in the same way.

This is not the first time the Nil Battey Sannata actor has spoken about national issues and come out in support of protestors. The actor has time and again used her voice to raise awareness against social injustice. Prior to this, Swara had openly supported the Farmer's protest.
Swara was one of the few artistes to take part in the Artists For Farmers organization's protest, which took place on the main stage of Sanyukt Kisaan Morcha. "I went to support the people who give us the food we eat. They have been peacefully expressing their demands, so I believe the government should comprehend why they are so adamant about this protest."
Talking about her projects, Swara last appeared in the comedy Jahaan Chaar Yaar with Pooja Chopra, Shikha Talsania, and Meher Vij. She is currently working on a movie called Mrs. Falani.
