Hyderabad: Actor Naga Chaitanya, who is currently promoting his forthcoming movie Custody, spoke up about his failed marriage with Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He described it as 'unfortunate', adding that he has the utmost regard for the period. After his divorce from Samantha, the actor inadvertently addressed the dating speculations with Sobhita Dhulipala.
In an interview with a YouTube channel, Naga Chaitanya discussed his broken marriage with Samantha and also responded to media reports about them. Naga Chaitanya said, "It's very unfortunate whatever happened in my personal life with my marriage. But I have the utmost respect for that phase of my life. As a result of the media reporting and how they have depicted things by speculating and spreading rumours, the whole respect has been gone, and it has been degraded in the public view. This is what really hurt me. The court granted us mutual consent for divorce about a year ago."

The actor continued by saying that he has been "hurt" by rumours about his romantic life and connections to other people. He said, "Just for headlines, they're speculating more and attaching my name to some third party. I've been seriously hurt by this. The third party is being drawn into this whole situation for no purpose or fault at all. They ought to let go since whatever happened is in the past. I really wish they would stop and move on with my clarification now."
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha fell in love while filming Ye Maya Chesave, and in 2017, they had a fairytale destination wedding. The pair released a joint statement on social media announcing their separation after four years of marriage. The Thank You actor disclosed that last year they got officially divorced as well.
