Javed Akhtar, Ajay Devgn mourn death of singer-producer Pamela Chopra as film fraternity pays condolences

Singer and Producer Pamela Chopra breathed her last on Thursday. Her sudden demise sent shockwaves across the Hindi film industry. Many celebs took to their respective social media handles to pay their last respects to Pam Aunty, as she was fondly called.

Hyderabad: Yash Chopra's widow and well-known playback singer Pamela Chopra passed away in Mumbai on Thursday, as informed by the Chopra family, who shared a heartfelt note on the YRF's official Instagram page. She was 74. The family needs privacy "in this moment of deep sadness and reflection," read the statement from Yash Raj Films.

As soon as the word spread, condolences from the film community began to pour in. Javed Akhtar paid tribute to Pamela Chopra on Twitter. "Pam ji, Shri Yash Chopra's better half, passed away today. She was a wonderful lady. Warm, witty, well-educated, and intelligent. She played a significant role in Yash Ji's scripts and music, as I have experienced firsthand. She was a unique individual," he wrote.

Pamela Chopra was the late Yash Raj Chopra's wife.
