According to the description, the series is 'a riveting game of cat and mouse between a seasoned criminal and an underdog cop.' The show is already being compared to the hit crime drama 'Delhi Crime'.

Vijay Varma is seen portraying a woman-hating serial killer, and incidentally, he was last seen in the Alia Bhatt starrer 'Darlings' portraying an abusive husband to Alia Bhatt. Vijay's performance as an abusive husband in Darlings bought him many accolades and it remains to be seen whether he will shine in another negative role.

While talking about the show Vijay said, “Reema and Zoya are some of the finest filmmakers of our time, and with Dahaad, they’ve taken it a notch higher. I’m thrilled to be associated with this series and to reunite with Excel Entertainment, Tiger Baby and Prime Video. After seeing the positive response at Berlinale, I’m looking forward to how viewers react to it, both India and overseas.”

Meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha's last outing was the 2022 movie 'Double XL' alongside Huma Qureshi, and before that, she was seen in the Ajay Devgn starrer 'Bhuj: The Pride of India'.

After 'Made in Heaven', Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar collaborated and co-created the series. Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi have co-directed the show. The show premiered at Berlinale 2023 and received rave reviews. Dahaad is produced by Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby Productions and starts streaming on Amazon Prime Video India on May 12.
