Animal box office collection: Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna's film breaks Gadar 2's record despite dip on first Monday

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor's film witnessed its first fall on its first Monday and early estimates for day 5 too show a similar trend. However, despite a drop in numbers, it broke Sunny Deol's record with Gadar 2, making more money at the box office on the first weekday.

Hyderabad: Ranbir Kapoor's family crime drama, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, saw its first-ever drop in box office receipts on Monday. Despite earning more than Rs 60 crore a day since its Friday release, Sacnilk reported that the movie witnessed a 44 percent dip in ticket sales. However, the film still managed to break the record of Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 as Animal scored the second-biggest non-holiday Monday in history with Rs 39.9 crore on its fourth day of business. The Ranbir Kapoor starrer now aims to join the Rs 300 crore club within the next seven to eight days.

Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is having a phenomenal run at the Indian box office despite box office clash with Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur. The Sandeep Reddy Vanga film made Rs 169.50 crore in its first weekend with an incredible hold in receipts so far. The film has made Rs 241.43 Cr in India in 4 days, according to early estimates, after taking in Rs 39.9 crore on Monday. The overall collections consist of Rs 63.8 crore on Friday, Rs 66.27 crore on Saturday, and Rs 71.46 crore on Sunday.

The Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial is unstoppable at the box office. With the historic run, the film has managed to mint Rs 10.22 crore as per early estimates published by Industry tracker Sacnilk till the time of publishing the article. The film has, as of now, sold a total of 4,43,395 tickets in India alone. The early box office predictions hint at a total collection in the range of Rs 30 to 35 crore on day 5 (first Tuesday).

The makers of Animal reported on Monday that the film had made Rs 356 crore at the global box office. The worldwide collection of Animal was shared on the movie's official Instagram account. The post read: "BOX OFFICE TSUNAMI!" According to ComScore data, Animal has not only dominated the Indian box office but has also surpassed films such as Napoleon and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes to become the #1 movie worldwide with $42.1 million. The film was made available in 38 countries worldwide. According to Variety, $6.1 million of the global gross was earned in North America, where it was released in 850 locations and opened at number seven.

Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Tripti Dimri, Suresh Oberoi, Shakti Kapoor, and Prem Chopra are among the other actors in the pan-India film. The film presents a violent world amidst the strained relationship between Ranbir's character, Ranvijay Singh, and his father, Balbir Singh, portrayed by Anil Kapoor. Prior to its premiere, the CBFC awarded the movie an A certificate. It is bankrolled under Pranay Reddy Vanga's Bhadrakali Pictures, Murad Khetani's Cine1 Studios, and Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar's T-Series. The film released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam on December 1.
