Hyderabad (Telangana): The 68th National Film Awards that were organised by the Directorate of Film Festivals, a division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, are scheduled to be presented at Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan on Friday evening from 5 pm onwards. President Droupadi Murmu will present the 68th National Film Awards in New Delhi today evening.
As reported earlier, Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2020 will be given to legendary actress Asha Parekh for her exemplary lifetime contribution to Indian Cinema. Actors Ajay Devgn and Suriya who jointly won Best Actor award were seen with filmmaker Om Raut and Best Actress for 68th National Film Awards Aparna Balamurali were seen in the front line at Vigyan Bhawan. The ceremony commenced with National Anthem followed by welcome speech from Apurva Chandra Information and Broadcasting secretary.
68th National Film Awards Jury:
The 10-member jury was headed by Hindi filmmaker Vipul Shah. The awards were announced in July by jury member and cinematographer Dharam Gulati. Apart from chairperson Shah and Gulati, the jury members include National award-winning Bengali actor Sreelekha Mukherjee, cinematographer GS Bhaskar, A Karthikraaja, VN Aditya, Viji Thampi, Sanjeev Rattan, S Thangadurai and Nishigandha.

68th National Film Awards major updates
- Vishal Bhardwaj received Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus) in Best Music Direction category for Marenge Toh Wahin Jaakar from 1232 kms (Hindi). It is Vishal's 8th National Award.
- Ajit Singh Rathore received Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus) in Best Audiography category for Pearl of the Desert (Rajasthani).
- Nikhil S Praveen received Rajat Kamla in Best Cinematography category for Shabdikkunna Kalappa (Malayalam).
- RV Ramani received Golden Lotus (Swarna Kamal) in Best Direction category for Oh That's Bhanu (English, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi).
- Pushkar Shripad Tamboli from The Filmy Monks received Rajat Kamal in Best Film on Family Values category for Kukumarchan (Marathi).
- Sreekar Prasad recived Rajat Kamal for Best Editing for Sivaranjaniyum Innum Sila Pengallum (Tamil). It's Prasad's 9th win at the National Film Awards.
- Shalini Usha Nair & Sudha Kongara for received Rajat Kamal in Best Screenplay writer category for Soorarai Pottru (Tamil).
- Nanchamma received Rajat Kamal in Best Female Playback Singer for Ayyappanum Koshiyum (Malayalam). She received the award amid huge round of applause and standing ovation.
- Lakshmi Priya Chandramouli received Rajat Kamal in Best Supporting Actress category for Sivaranjaniyum Innam Sila Pengallum.
- Suriya for Soorarai Pottru and Ajay Devgn for Tanhaji received Rajat Kamal in Best Actor category.
- Om Raut received Swarna Kamal for Tanhaji :The Unsung Warrior in Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
