Sex racket busted in UP's Gautam Buddh Nagar, 35 arrested

As many as 35 people, including 25 women, were arrested during simultaneous police raids at over a dozen spa centers allegedly running sex rackets in UP's Gautam Buddh Nagar. During the raids, police seized cash worth ₹1 lakh, and condoms among the other things from the locations.

Gautam Buddh Nagar (UP): As many as 35 people, including 10 men and 25 women, were arrested after 15 teams of police conducted raids at 14 spa centres in Sector 18 here on Sunday.

There were foreign nationals among those arrested, including those from Thailand, the police officials said but did not give their exact count.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Vineet Jaiswal said that on the directions of Senior SP Vaibhav Krishna, the raids were conducted late in the evening at 14 spa centres in the commercial hub of Sector 18.

He further added that altogether 35 people including 10 men and 25 women were arrested from the spas. Around ₹1 lakh in cash, beer, used and unused condoms, along with other objectionable articles, were seized from these spa centres.

The spas have been sealed and action will be taken against the owners, police said in their statement.
