Police to nab accused who abducted, raped woman on pretext of providing job

In a case pertaining to a woman being raped and forced to convert her religion, police are on the hunt to nab the accused.

Jaipur (Rajasthan): In the Pratapnagar police station area of ​​​​Rajasthan's Jaipur, a woman was abducted on the pretext of being provided a job, taken to Jammu and Kashmir, only to be physically abused, raped and forced to convert her religion. The victim later approached the police and revealed her ordeal saying that she was taken hostage, beaten, and raped, as a result was impregnated and had given birth to a girl. However, despite the woman having lodged a complaint with the police no action was taken.

Later, the woman under Section 156(3) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) called istagasa approached court. It was then that the court had directed the police station concerned to conduct an investigation, following which the Pratap Nagar SHO was pulled up for dereliction of duty. Now, the police got the girl's medical test done, and have sent teams to Jammu and Kashmir and Bharatpur to nab the accused. Meanwhile, the statement of the woman was also recorded, which would be produced in court on July 22.

As per reports, in the incident which took place a month earlier, the victim had filed a case against the alleged accused - Shahid, Amir, Bismillah, Firdos and Qazi, for having abducted her and taking her to Jammu and Kashmir on the pretext of providing job. In connection with this incident, the police teams on Monday had raided the residences of the accused. Their relatives and acquaintances have also been questioned for the whereabouts of the accused.
