NCPCR bans sale of Johnson & Johnson's baby shampoo

During a test by Rajasthan drug control authority, formaldehyde which is a harmful substance was found in Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo. In response to this, the National Commission of Protection of Child Rights has written a letter to Chief Secretaries of all states and Union Territories to stop sale of Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo in their respective states.

New Delhi: National Commission of Protection of Child Rights, in a letter to Chief Secretaries of all states and union territories, directed to stop the sale of Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo in their respective states and removing product stocked at shops.

While speaking to a media agency, chairperson of National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPR) Priyank Kanoongo, said, "Rajasthan drug control authority had tested Johnson and Johnson's baby shampoo and found formaldehyde in it which is harmful. So, chief secretaries of 5 regions were asked to stop the sale of this product."
