Advance reservation period increased to 120 days for special trains

Ministry of Railways has decided to increase the advance reservation period of all the Special trains notified from 30 days to 120 days. While booking of Parcel and luggage will be permitted in all these trains.

New Delhi: As Indian Railways is planning for resumption of its passenger services from June 1, certain modifications have been made in the instructions of these Special Trains.

On Thursday, Ministry of Railways has decided to increase the advance reservation period of all the Special trains notified from 30 days to 120 days. While booking of Parcel and luggage will be permitted in all these trains.

Indian Railways started operating 30 Special Rajdhani type trains from May 12, 2020. Later, the Union Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal announced that for the resumption of passenger train services amid Coronavirus pandemic, 200 trains will run per day from June 1. Ticket booking for these trains has been started from May 22.

Meanwhile, other terms for these trains including current bookings, tatkal quota allocation of seats, will remain same as in the regular time tabled trains.

The modifications made to the instructions of these trains shall be implemented with effect from 08:00 hours of train booking date of May 31, 2020, onwards. These instructions can also be viewed on the official website of Indian Railways.

In the latest data, given by Ministry of Railways, 48 lakh migrant workers have been ferried by 3,736 Shramik Special Trains since May 1, 2020.

In the latest data, given by Ministry of Railways, 48 lakh migrant workers have been ferried by 3,736 Shramik Special Trains since May 1, 2020.
