Narendra Modi: Narendra Singh Tomar, the newly appointed Union Minister of Agriculture on Friday said that doubling farmer income by 2022 would be his primary focus. Apart from the above, as Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, he aims at providing houses to the economically downtrodden by 2022.

The newly appointed minister also asked the state governments to cooperate in implementing the schemes related to agriculture. He also mentioned that the government has already been providing the minimum support price as per the Swaminathan Committee report.

"The Modi government has already implemented many schemes for the benefit of farmers and will continue to do so," Tomar said.

Intro:देश के नये कृषि मंत्री नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर होंगे । ग्रामीण विकास और पंचायती राज भी उनके पास पहले से है । मंत्रालय आवंटित होते ही नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर के आवास पर शुभकामना देने वालों का तांता लग गया ।
मीडिया से बातचीत में नवनिर्वाचित कृषि मंत्री ने बताया कि 2022 तक किसानों की आय दुगनी करने का जो लक्ष्य निर्धारित है उस दिशा में सरकार तेजी से काम करेगी । इसके साथ ही 2022 तक हर गरीब के पास अपना घर हो, इसे भी प्राथमिकता पर रखा गया है ।
कृषि क्षेत्र और किसानों के विकास के लिये सबसे जरूरी न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य है जो स्वामीनाथन कमिटी के रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक किसानों को दी जा रही है । मंत्री ने ये भी कहा है कि राज्य सरकारों को प्रभावी रूप से सभी योजनाओं को किसानों तक पहुंचाने में मदद करनी होगी और उपज की खरीद भी समय से हो ये देखना होगा ।
बतौर देश के नये कृषि मंत्री नरेंद्र तोमर के सामने कई चुनौतियाँ खड़ी हैं । सबसे बड़ी चुनौती के रूप में सरकार का वो महत्वकांक्षी लक्ष्य है जिसमें वर्ष 2022 तक किसानों की आमदनी दुगनी करने की बात कही गई है ।

Body:हालांकि नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने कहा है कि किसानों के लाभ के लिये मोदी सरकार ने पहले भी तमाम योजनाएँ चलाई हैं और आगे भी उनका लक्ष्य यही रहेगा कि खेती किसानी को फायदे का काम बनाया जाए ।
