The victim is a native of Mulanthuruthi. She was aboard the train to work in Chengannur. Sources said the train compartment in which she was travelling was empty. The man allegedly closed the doors on either side of the compartment, snatched her jewellery and threatened to kill her besides trying to sexually harass her. The panic-stricken woman, in a bid to save herself, jumped out of the train, according to some sources.
Few others said she kept clinging on to the train standing on the footboard in order to rescue herself from the man, but lost her grip and fell down.
She was admitted to a hospital in Kochi. Police said they have launched a search for the accused.
