Hyderabad: A day before Monsoon Session, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Sunday said the House represents the collective will and aspirations of the country and all members will be given adequate opportunities to express their views within decorum and rules.
Speaking to the media after chairing an all-party meet, Birla said the House represents the collective will and aspirations of the country and it is the responsibility of the Members to voice the concerns of the people they represent amidst the decorum and rules of the House. He said the House belongs to all the members and he will give adequate time and opportunity to all of them, including members from smaller and single-member parties, to present their views. Earlier during the all-party meet, Birla urged leaders to pitch their views participate in debate and discussions keeping in mind the rules and decorum of the House. He praised the parliamentarians for recording '122 per cent' productivity during the last five sessions as they honoured Parliament's dignity during the sittings.

He informed journalists that adequate safety arrangements had been made to ensure the safety of the Parliamentarians, officials and the media during the session. The fact that most parliamentarians were vaccinated would help maintain a relaxed environment, he said.
Birla also informed that an app is being developed which will be a one-stop solution for all parliamentary matters.
The sixth sixth session of the 17th Lok Sabha will commence today and is likely to conclude on August 13 with a total of 19 sittings.
