“The study curriculum has been largely affected by the pandemic in the year 2020 and 2021. The Corona crisis has devastated the normal course of studies of lakhs for lakhs of students. In view of the whole scenario, the department has decided to promote students of the fifth and eighth standard for a time being. But, as soon as things stumble back to normalcy, an evaluation of the promoted students will surely be carried out”, Nath said.

Similarly, class IX and XI students, who could not appear for their final examination, due to a sudden surge in COVID-19 infection rate, will also be promoted to the next class.

“The students of class IX and XI could not appear for all their final exams. The exams have been suspended for the spike in COVID-19 cases. In this case, marks will be given assessing the highest score of an individual student in a specific subject. If any student is found to be lacking to meet up the 33 per cent pass marks, he will be given grace marks for promotion”, Nath further said.
