Srinagar: Three overground workers (OGWs) of a terrorist organisation have been arrested along with ammunition and arms from the Uri sector of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday. Police sources said they also recovered two pistols, 10 bullet magazines, Rs 3,00,000 cash, and drugs from their possession.
The trio is identified as Sharafat Khan son of Badshah Khan (Kupwara), Sajjad Shah son of Mohammad Shah (Lolab), and Shahid Ahmed Rather son of Wali Mohammad Rather (Tangmarg). Police have registered a case at the Uri police station and launched further investigations.

Earlier on June 16, a policeman was killed after suspected militants fired at him in the Saidapora Eidgah area of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. The policeman has been identified as Javaid Ahmad, a resident of Srinagar.
According to sources, Javaid Ahmed was posted as the security guard of a high court judge. The cop was shot near his residence which left him injured. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead on arrival. As per initial reports, Javaid had received a bullet injury in the neck.
