Srinagar: An off-duty policeman died after being shot at by suspected terrorists in Srinagar on Saturday. According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, he succumbed to his injuries at SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS).
A senior police officer said that the cop Ghulam Hassan, working as a driver, at Police Control Room helpline 112 was shot in the morning near Aiwa bridge on the Ali Jan Road while he was traveling on his motorcycle. The injured cop was rushed to SKIMS Soura for providing treatment in a critical condition. The area was cordoned off to nab the fleeing militants.
