Kolkata: Already, National Investigation Agency (NIA) has the news that some international terror outfits are exploiting the economic meltdown and the unemployment problem in West Bengal to allure youths from a particular community in West Bengal. Now, NIA has some definite clues and documents that shows that not just terror outfits in neighboring Bangladesh, these youths are also have direct connection with terror outfits based out of Pakistan.

NIA has accessed some definite clues that youths from a particular community residing in the rural areas of four districts of Howrah, Hooghly, East Burdwan and North 24 Parganas are having direct contact with Pakistan-based terror outfits. NIA has also started a witch-hunt to track them. The investigating agency has also accessed documents showing that lakhs of rupees were transacted between the bank accounts of these youths and some bank accounts in Pakistan.

On Friday night, the NIA sleuths raided a village in the rural area of the Hooghly district hunting for some of these youngsters. However, they could not trace anybody. The raid was conducted at the Mejopara area in rural Hooghly and they were looking for two youths christened Saddam and Nazim. However, after reaching the houses of the suspects, the sleuths could not trace any of the two. Their family members said that the 'duo' have disappeared from the locality two years ago.

Now the question that arises is why NIA is suddenly focusing on these youths from a particular community residing in the rural areas of these four districts. An NIA source said on condition of anonymity that their trusted sources planted in different parts of the state have confirmed that the recent movements and activities of some suspected youngsters from these four districts are highly suspicious. "We have accessed specific documents that show that from a particular bank account in Pakistan lakhs of rupees were transferred to the accounts of Saddam and Nazim," he said.

That money was again transferred to other accounts. So it has become necessary for the NIA sleuths to question the holders of these bank accounts where the money was transferred. "Unemployment scenario in West Bengal is fast deteriorating because of the lockdown. So we doubt that terror outfits are exploiting this economic curse to attract youth to join their outfits by systematically brainwashing them," the source said.

Recently, three suspected activists of Bangladesh- based terror outfit, JMB were arrested from the southern outskirts of Kolkata. Although, the arrest and the initial investigation was conducted by the sleuths of Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police, NIA took over the investigation since last Friday. NIA sleuths believe that more in-depth grilling of the arrested trio might reveal more information about the terror outfit sleeper cell members hiding in West Bengal or its adjacent states.
