New Delhi: New Delhi: Both Houses of the Parliament on Wednesday was adjourned till 11 am on Thursday amid protest by the Opposition on separate issues. The proceedings in Rajya Sabha were adjourned for the day after the Oppositions MPs rushed to the well of the House demanding revocation of the suspension of the 12 MPs and resorted to sloganeering.
The protest took place when a discussion was going on in the House on the situation arising in the country out of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
When the Opposition members continued their protest, despite repeated requests by BJP's Bhubaneswar Kalita, who was on the chair, then adjourned the House for the day.
Earlier in the day, Rajya Sabha was adjourned multiple times due to the ruckus created by Opposition members over the suspension of 12 MPs.
The Upper House has witnessed repeated adjournments since the winter session started due to protests by Opposition members over the suspension of 12 MPs for alleged misconduct during the last monsoon session.
Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day amid protest by Opposition MPs over the report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on the recent incident of violence in Lakhimpur Kheri.
Soon after the proceedings of the House started, the Opposition members trooped to the well of the House demanding the sacking of Union Minister Ajay Mishra who is among the 13 accused in the case.
Rajendra Agrawal, who was in the Chair adjourned the House for the day after the Opposition MPs refused to relent. Earlier in the day, the House was adjourned till 2 pm amid protest by Opposition MPs over the same issue.
