New Delhi: In an aim to weed out touts, Railway Protection Force is working on a plan to link personal identification documents like Aadhar, PAN or passport with online ticket booking through the IRCTC website.
The announcement was made by the Director-General of Railway Protection Force Arun Kumar, on Friday during a press conference. "The future is that eventually, we have to link login of ticketing with some identity card either Aadhaar or PAN or any other proof, the number of which the passenger can log in so that we can end touting."
He even accepted that earlier actions against touts were based on human intelligence which used to have an almost negligent impact on the ground. DG RPF said authorities are creating a network to implement this plan, under which they have almost completed their work with Aadhar authorities and the same will be done with other identity proofs.
