Yawatmal: Puja Chavan suicide case has snowballed further with the revelation of abortions done in Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College Hospital. Puja Arun Rathod's name is listed in the hospital records.
The woman named Puja Arun Rathod was hospitalised at 2 am on February 6. The similarity in the names led to speculation that it is the same woman, Puja Chavan.

Dr Srikant Varhade, head of the maternity department, clarified that the girl who was admitted at 2 am was Puja Arun Rathod and not Puja Chavan. He also said that he was not present at the hospital at the time of admission and someone else had treated her. She had undergone incomplete spontaneous abortion without complications, he said.
When asked about incomplete spontaneous abortion without complications, private practitioner, Dr Girish Mane said that such type of abortion is done immediately without any complications.

It should also be noted that the doctor who had treated her has not yet come to the fore. The revelation became more important after an audio clip of a conversation had gone viral. The glaring similarity in the names has led to the mystery. Police have initiated an investigation on the matter.
Puja Chavan, 22-year-old girl was found dead in Wanavwadi area in Pune on February 7 under mysterious circumstances. The police investigation is ongoing to probe whether she committed suicide or was killed.
Her suspicious death has created a huge political stir in the state as forest minister Sanjay Rathod’s name has cropped up in this sensational matter.
