New Delhi: BJP's national spokesperson Sambit Patra on Tuesday addressing a presser lambasted senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for having revealed the identity of the Delhi minor rape victim by posting her parent's images and using the issue for fulfilling his political agenda. The BJP leader further alleged that neither Rahul Gandhi nor the Congress have any credibility left among the public, claiming that the victim's mother herself had issued a statement, saying that there was no consent given from the family to make the picture public.
The BJP leader's remarks come in the wake of Congress having claimed that the victim's mother had given her consent to Rahul Gandhi to share her picture on social media.

Earlier on August 4th, Patra had alleged that a tweet by the Congress leader had violated Section 23 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Section 74 of Juvenile Justice Care and Protection of Children Act that prohibits revealing the minor's identity. The BJP leader demanded the National Commission of Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) to take strict action against Rahul under the POCSO Act, further urging the Commission to issue a notice to him.
