Man impersonates as Amit Shah's relative at Indore airport, FIR registered

Indore airport police have filed an FIR against a man for impersonating as Union HM Amit Shah's relative and utilizing the VIP treatment at the airport. Suspecting something wrong, the airport management launched an investigation wherein it was revealed that the man had faked them.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man who claimed to be Union Home Minister Amit Shah's relative and had been availing VIP treatment at Indore's Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport has turned out to be an impostor. The man has been identified as Puneet Shah. Indore airport police have filed an FIR against the man for impersonation and have launched a probe by registering a case against the accused under various sections. It was following a suspicion by the Airport Manager, that an investigation was launched wherein it was revealed that the man had faked them.

When the airport authority suspected something fishy in the matter, the intelligence agency was informed. The agency's investigation revealed that Puneet Shah is not a relative of Amit Shah. The airport management then registered a complaint against the impostor in this regard with the airport police.

Puneet was accorded VIP facilities by airport management

Aerodrome station in-charge Rahul Sharma said that a case has been registered against the accused under various sections. The accused who used to live in Mumbai, often visited Indore for business related work, and had been availing VIP treatment at the airport by pretending to be a relative of the Home Minister, the official said, adding that many at times even the airport personnel believing him accorded VIP facility.
