Also known as the 'Ring of Fire', the phenomenon happens when the moon comes between the Sun and the Earth. The annular solar eclipse occurs when the Moon is farthest from the Earth. Due to its distance from the planet, the moon is unable to completely block the sunlight. Hence the sunlight appears in the form of 'Ring of Fire'.
